Our school days runs for 6:50AM - 2:30PM (one day a week until 4:30 for planning)

We have a very competitive salary scale that pays the same or higher than most local districts. Our starting salary for a 1st year teacher with no prior experience is between $45,000 and it goes up from there aligned with years of prior experience if certified. If uncertified salary starts at $40,000.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaches skills, knowledge, and scientific attitudes through courses in technology education to students, utilizing curriculum designated by REACH Academy Charter School;
Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the division's basic instructional philosophy to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students;
Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of REACH Academy Charter School;
Plans a technology education program involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student experiments; organizes activities for optimal learning;
Instructs students in the proper use, care and safe handling of equipment;
Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary;
Provides for safe storage and proper use of materials, equipment and tools;
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior for a productive learning environment during class sessions and field trips;
Evaluates each student's growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught;
Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress;
Supervises students in assigned out of classroom activities during the working day;
Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student and family activities;
Administers testing in accordance with division testing practices;
Perform related work as assigned by the Head of School.
Qualifications/Education and/or ExperienceIt's not required but is preferred that teachers hold a NYS professional teaching certificate in their subject area or be eligible for reciprocity to include (1) Minimum Bachelor's degree in subject area to be taught, Master's Degree preferred; (2) Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom and commitment to accountability preferred ; (3) Belief in and alignment with REACH Academy Charter School core beliefs and educational philosophy; (4) Valid New York State Certification, except in cases where the Head of School shall make an exception under the terms of this Policy, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.Salary - REACH Academy Charter School has a salary scale in place. Your salary step will depend on your prior years of experience and certification. A first-year teacher with no experience but has their certification will start at $45,000. A teacher on step 10 which is the most prior credit we can give is $65,830.
