Summary: Our client is a local manufacturing company in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist will support the accounting team in coordinating vendor payments in support of all business across the company, as well as completing basic bookkeeping, accounting, and administrative tasks.
Essential duties of Position:
· Process financial documents such as bills, invoices, pay-orders, payables, receivables, and purchase orders
· Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions
· Successfully execute various accounting tasks, in collaboration with team members
· Process weekly check runs
· Assist in financial record keeping
· Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracing them to the source to correct them
· Verify payments and deposits through company bank accounts
· Manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors, and vendors
· Assist with collection and analysis of financial data
· Stay cognizant of keeping certain information confidential
· Various other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Skills Needed:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business discipline, preferred
· Three to five years of related accounts payable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other accounting applications
· Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
· General math skills, ability to identify numerical errors
· Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
