For detailed information regarding the 55-a Program, please visit the following link https://www1.nyc.gov/site/dcas/employment/55-a-program.page Compensation: Project Manager (TA) $73,878-$96,395 Responsibilities:Under direction with latitude to exercise independent judgment, is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the implementation of the design and construction of large and/or complex railway engineering projects, such as track work and track switch design. The incumbent shall have the knowledge and the ability to perform construction surveys, draft using CADD, design and review engineering drawings and write contract specifications. Provide field support for in-house forces by providing visual inspections, construction recommendations and design drawings as needed. Provide field implementation and verification of safety issues. The incumbent may supervise subordinates. Must have engineering Degree. Education and Experience Project Manager Qualification Requirements

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in "1" above; or

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of the experience and/or college education as described in "1" above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of credit will be given for each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration. Experience which is primarily of a design nature is not acceptable towards meeting the minimum requirements.

Desired Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

Knowledge of PC applications and CADD related to construction and design including MicroStation.

In depth knowledge of construction design.
