Description We are currently seeking an experienced Grant Accountant for our non profit client in NYC! The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of New York City and State grants, vouchering, and budgeting alongside a strong financial background. The role demands an individual with the ability to handle the complexities and demands of securing and managing a variety of grants within the non-profit sector, collaborating closely with program managers.Responsibilities:

Oversee grant applications and manage existing grants, including compliance with funding guidelines.

Prepare and submit vouchers to relevant authorities for grant disbursements.

Manage financial reporting, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements.

Develop project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare financial reports.

Collaborate with program managers, providing guidance on grant reporting requirements, and ensure adherence to financial standards.

Apply financial knowledge to evaluate grant proposals.

Monitor and facilitate cash flow needs related to grant funding.

Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness with recording of grant-related transactions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

A minimum of three years’ experience in grant accounting, preferably within New York City and State.

Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, and accounting software.

Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.

Strong understanding of budgets and financial planning for grants.

Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Strong ethical standards and personal integrity.
