The National Sales Director works with the Regional Sales Managers to implement approved sales strategies and create clear direction for the Natural Channel Sales organization.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Management and development of direct sales organization.

Ensure sales territories and regions are organized to maximize sales growth and account coverage.

Work with Regional Management to establish clear direction regarding duties, responsibilities, and accountability of sales force.

Develop regional management skills (i.e., leadership, execution, strategy, team building, etc.).

Work with Vice President of Sales and Human Resources to hire and train qualified sales personnel to fill positions within Natural Channel Sales organization.

Establish and maintain healthy sales organization culture and working environment, where Sales Representatives are inspired, motivated, and accountable.

Work with Education to ensure Sales Representatives are capable of product training and store education.

Oversee the management of large Natural Regional Chains and Diamond Accounts

Work with Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives to develop and implement growth initiatives for Regional Diamond accounts.

Participate in meetings with key regional accounts to assist in presenting programs and products.

Sales revenue and sales analysis

Responsible for obtaining and tracking progress of all sales targets set by Executive Management for the Natural Channel.

Ongoing regional and territory analysis to evaluate outpoints and opportunity throughout the sales organization. Analysis to include but not limited to territory performance, product placement, and key account growth.

Analyze product placement and sell through, and work with Regional Mangers to develop programs to meet and exceed levels set by executive management.

Meet monthly with regional management individually to discuss progress and determine direction for improvement.

Work with Sales Leadership and Sales Operations to develop and implement sales programs and promotions

Ensure annual promotional calendar is strategically organized to optimize sales results and drive sales to meet or exceed company objectives.

Make recommendations for needed programs and promotions to improve sell in and sell through.

Work directly with Vice President of Sales and Sales Strategy team to ensure programs and promotions are supported with effective merchandising and marketing support.

Assist in developing meaningful presentation tools for Sales Representatives.

Management of Natural Channel budget

Work Sales Leadership to manage channel budget and maximize use of spending for best results.

Ensure clear budget guidelines and processes are in place to control and manage spending down to the Sales Representative level.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

BS/BA degree in Business or Communications

8 -10 years sales experience

General management and team-building experience

Account management in a fast faced corporate environment

Prior experience developing and delivering sales plans and managing budgets

Nutritional and/or health-positive consumer products sales experience preferred

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Product knowledge required to communicate consumer benefits

Retail health food stores

Strategic, conceptual and tactical sales skills

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

Ability to analyze, develop and manage revenue and expense budgets

Ability to achieve revenue and profitably objectives on a sustainable basis

Relationship building and management skills

Leadership and sales training skills

Product knowledge required to communicate consumer benefits

Excellent public speaking and presentation skills

Interpersonal skills, as much work is cross-functional within the company

Ability to travel extensively

The approximate pay range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
