Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Description
Job Summary:
A NYS licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to administer physical therapy and aqua therapy to patients in an out-patient clinic in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
Qualifications:
Graduate from a 2-year accredited college program approved by American Physical Therapy Association.
Current NYS license
Two years’ experience is preferred
Current CPR and First Aide
Responsibilities:
Provide physical therapy and aquatic therapy prescribed by and under the supervision of a NYS licensed PT
Instruct patients and family members with home exercise program and assist training patient appropriate use of assistive devices.
Consult with PT regarding any changes or updates in tolerance and progress to treatment.
Prepare daily note and update plan of care for each patient’s visit in a timely manner
Participate in all staff meetings and in-services
Attend special training as needed
Perform one-on-one treatment with patients in the pool
Assist with maintaining cleanliness of the gym area, pool room, and shower daily.
Assist with laundry, administrative tasks, and general housekeeping
Daily maintenance of pool including monitoring pH and bromine levels, and learn how to change and clean the pool filter.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
