Employees receive support throughout their career with access to professional development opportunities across campus, college savings plans, access to public student loan forgiveness programs, a tuition waiver program, and much more!Job Description:The Upward Bound Math-Science (UBMS) program at Binghamton University is one of eight TRIO programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education to strengthen participating students' math and science skills. The program's goal is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and to encourage them to pursue degrees in math and science and, ultimately, careers in the math and science profession.The Project Coordinator must demonstrate effective program development and management skills, including the ability to be flexible, manage multiple projects, and prioritize competing and shifting demands/needs of stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment. We expect the candidate to possess well-developed collaborative skills, as evidenced by the ability to work as part of a team with a strong initiative to drive forward data-informed project goals. The Project Coordinator should demonstrate organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate persuasive arguments in writing and orally to motivate and influence people and to exercise sound professional judgment in all interactions. We expect the candidate to embrace a commitment to expanding opportunities, particularly college access and persistence, for low-income and first-generation college-bound students and students of color.Responsibilities:

Recruits and selects program participants

Plans all program functions design to prepare participants for professional licensure and careers in mathematics, science, technology, and health-related fields

Conducts academic and career advising sessions with individual participants and identifies appropriate support services

Assists participants with securing admission to and financial assistance for enrollment in college

Collects and evaluates data on program participants and program performance, including maintaining information on participant needs and progress

Compiles data for midterm and final performance reports

Accompany participants to two to four conferences per year

Leads organizational meetings

Coordinates workshops on various topics as needed

Serves as editor for the program newsletter, web page, and other social media

Jointly supervises an Academic Counselor and Student Assistants

Expect to work some weekends and overnights to participate in field trips, college tours, conferences, and Saturday workshops

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:Requirements:

Master's degree required

Experience advising or teaching students

Strong organizational, oral, written, and computer skills

Self-motivated and able to exercise independent judgment

Reliable transportation required

Preferred:

Administrative experience (especially in externally funded grant program administration and reporting).

Teaching experience at the high school level

Experience advising or teaching students from low-income and historically underrepresented minority backgrounds.

Additional Information:Salary: $55,000 annually.
