Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various types of carpentry work, including residential, commercial, or industrial projects. The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials. This role requires strong attention to detail, an understanding of building codes, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials to build frameworks and structures such as doors, windows, walls, and furniture.
- Install fixtures like windows, doors, and cabinets according to project specifications.
- Repair and replace damaged structures or fixtures, ensuring that work is done to a high standard.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp the requirements of the project.
- Work with materials such as wood, metal, plastic, and drywall.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as electricians, plumbers, and general contractors, to complete projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter (3+ years preferred) but willing to train the right candidate.
- Proficient in using both hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and local building codes.
- Good physical condition, with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
