Redemption Christian Academy is now accepting applications for Immediate Hiring of a Head Cook for dinner meals only.
ASSIGNMENT: 20 hours per week.
This position involves routine responsibility for the preparation and cooking of meals for students and staff.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
Understands and can demonstrate proficiency operating cooking equipment such as grills, steamers, fryer, flat top and slicers
Ability to follow basic recipe from menu to produce food
Ensures food is prepared and presented with high level of quality, visual appeal and consistency
Capable of being a team player to use all kitchen equipment, processes and procedures
Assists in the control of food and labor costs by eliminating waste and over production
Assist with putting away stock, keeping freezers, walk-ins, and other storage areas in proper cleanliness and order, maintain proper rotation
Job Qualifications
Experience:
Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role is preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and sanitation standards
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
One year of experience in the preparation of food on a large scale.
