Seeking a General Manager for The Aviary: an upscale, Asian-influenced restaurant in the Hudson Valley. The restaurant is looking for a dynamic, experienced person who uphold the owners' vision and standards for The Aviary and prepare for daily operations.
Direct Report: Owners
Responsibilities include:
Manage day-to-day operations of the restaurant/bar
Meeting & greeting customers & organizing table reservations
Provide exceptional guest serve, thereby setting the standard for all employees
Increase of sales, quality of service & Quality of Products
Assist in hiring, training, and employee development
Work closely with owners and other management to curate the further growth and development of the company as well as its staff
Maintain a positive restaurant culture and have exemplary leadership skills
Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene and health & safety
Most importantly lead by example!
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of prior restaurant and front of house management experience, preferably in a fine dining environment
5 working days including most weekend nights (Wed - Sunday) and events
Excellent attention to detail and customer service
Highly resourceful, creative problem solver, with a desire to learn
Familiarity with digital POS systems and Resy
Ability to use computer (word docs, spreadsheets, email) for ordering, inventory, communications,
A positive and enthusiastic attitude, as well as a desire to learn, grow, and develop new skills
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership & interpersonal skills
