Job Description:This is a system-wide leadership position which implements, directs, and supports infection prevention programs and processes across the full continuum of care throughout Intermountain Health.Job Profile:The Senior Manager Infection Prevention leads the implementation of Infection Prevention (IP) services across Intermountain Health. This includes helping to direct the programs to surveil and report infections, support of regulatory needs related to IP, support activities with other health systems and government agencies related to IP actives, response to disease exposure, support of caregivers in IP practices including the use of PPE – personal protective equipment.The role supports clinical and operational leaders at the system, region, market, and care site levels. Scope includes all Intermountain Health clinical functions with emphasis on directing system led, locally deployed support model. The role supports execution aligned with Clinical Excellence leadership teams to drive overarching strategies that support the delivery of highly reliable care that is safe, high quality, patient centered and equitable.Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in nursing, Public Health, Microbiology from an accredited institution (degree will be verified). If a degree is in Nursing, the candidate must have a current license.
CIC Certification
Demonstrate experience and competence in hospital epidemiology, Infection Prevention, ID pharmacy or field that supports infectious disease operation and/or research.
Successful and progressive experience in a health car system or hospital providing or directing patient care activities.
Experience working in a complex health system (hospitals, ambulatory clinics, post-acute care, etc.)
Experience with change management with the ability to provide leadership in the adaptation and implementation of new processes and/or technology that enhance Quality.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a role requiring analytical skills and expertise in data management.
5 years’ experience in nursing, public health, microbiology lab sciences, business administration or other health sciences field.
Experience with external entities that drive and support Infection Prevention Quality approaches and standards including government agencies, academic institution, universities and related organization or higher education, and other public institutions is preferred.
