The program supports the largest number of deliveries in the Capital region, many of which are high-risk pregnancies and multiple births. The family centered team YOU will work with includes physicians, licensed nurse midwives, dedicated perinatal nurses, social work and spiritual care services, skilled techs, and lactation consultants. What you will do:Nurses working in Mother/Baby unit have the support of comprehensive orientation developed by a clinical nurse specialist in maternal/child nursing, on-site BLS and neonatal resuscitation classes, as well as on going clinical education. The staff is highly involved in quality improvement activities, program development, recognition activities, and team building. The clinical ladder program provides the opportunity for professional growth through mentoring, opportunities for leadership, and generous educational funding.Responsibilities:

The RN is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient to which he or she is assigned

Planning the nursing care needed to meet those needs, including spiritual, emotional and physiological needs. Once planned, the RN is responsible for seeing that the plan of care is carried out through performance and or leadership of supervised personnel and that the plan of care is evaluated

Directly accountable to the Nurse Manager for the quality of patient care delivered

Modifies and delivers care that is specific to the age, growth and development of patients according to the unit scope of services

When serving in the charge role, he or she is responsible for clinical and leadership functions.

Responsible for assessing the needs of each patient and planning the nursing care needed to meet those needs

Current NYS RN

One year of Med Surg or Maternity

Pay Range:$36.50 - $49.95Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
