BBL is seeking a Portfolio Accountant to become an integral part of our growing real estate management team. A successful candidate will possess or be in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. The Portfolio Accountant will be responsible for all accounting functions as part of the financial reporting process. The candidate will contribute immediately to the accounting team and will report directly to the department controller. This position entails working directly with ownership and the executive team and offers tremendous opportunity for growth. Primary Responsibilities May Include:

Participates in the financial close process including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules

Assists in tax preparation and planning process

Oversight of cash management and disbursements

Works with operations team to support financial analytics

Review of various legal documents including contracts, operating agreements, management agreements, loan documents, leases, etc. and apply knowledge to financial reporting

Work collaboratively with the finance and operations teams to develop operating budgets

Assists with risk management function to provide asset protection, minimize liability exposure and to ensure compliance with internal and external parties

Ensure necessary, documentation support for transactions

Review sales, projections, trends

Present financial information for lenders, sureties, other stakeholders

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced professional environment

Results oriented with strong attention to detail

Proficient in MS Excel

Possesses or in pursuit of Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance related field

Demonstrates ability to understand and utilize new information technology systems
