Description We are working with our client in Albany NY to fill a short term contract role as a Bookkeeper. If you are a go-getter, communicative, strong at multi-tasking and proficient in Excel and on the computer then take a look at applying!Key Responsibilities:
Use accounting software for all bookkeeping tasks.
Process checks, prepare bank deposits, and verify deposit accuracy.
Post payments to member accounts and the general ledger.
Prepare detailed accounts receivable distributions.
Manage wire transfers between bank accounts.
Maintain billing systems for retirees and off-payroll members.
Answer member questions about invoices.
Ensure timely payment of invoices, including Aetna payments.
Prepare and issue checks as directed.
Reconcile Credit Union and other bank accounts.
Handle life insurance billing and vendor invoicing.
Manage private sector and consignment accounts.
Prepare financial reports for Trustee meetings.
Assist with annual budget preparation and audits.
Perform other assigned duties.
Ensure consistent, reliable attendance.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Knowledge of bookkeeping and general office practices.
Team player, quick learner, and a go-getter.
Proficient in accounting software and data entry.
Skilled in preparing financial reports and working with numerical data.
Proficient in Excel is a must
Great Plains experience is a plus
