The Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum provided by Director. The Assistant Teacher is committed to the mission of Kids First Childcare Center. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in the general supervision and management of the classroom. The Assistant Teacher will help maintain a Christian atmosphere in the classroom. The Assistant Teacher reports to the Lead Teacher as well as the Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and preparing the daily activities for classroom
Assist in maintaining a safe environment for all participants in the classroom
Supervise the classroom when Lead Teacher is out of classroom
Attend all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
Report any needs or concerns to Lead Teacher and Director in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Teacher or Director
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 40 lbs.
Repetitive bending, stretching or stooping.
Climb up and down stairs.
Be mobile to ensure the safety of the children.
Work with children on the floor
Work outside in all weather.
Assist children with diapering/toileting needs.
Perform light cleaning.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
1 year experience related to caring with children
OCFS 418-1.13
