We're seeking a kind human, with carpentry/ building/ handyperson skills to temporarily live on our 10 acre Abiquiu lot in exchange for free housing in a modest converted shed, with a/c, running water, wood stove, electric, WiFi, minimal furnishing, and close walking distance to a compost privy, private bath/ shower, washer/ dryer unit, and spacious outdoor kitchen.
Offering our converted shed from May 1 through October 1, '25; with strong potential for paid work for anything beyond 5 hours a week of labor.
This person would need to be a decent, kind human, with their own vehicle, good with our friendly pups, self-directed and (capable of being) collaborative on potential building projects, no pets (sorry!), queer-friendly and (I can't say it enough) kind, and appreciative of a quiet life close to the land.
Building projects we hope to get into this Spring/ Summer/ Fall. are to add a room to this shed, with strategic shelving, a small kitchen unit, w/d space, and ultimately make it an efficient, cozy space for future guests. (Note: our 'style' ranges from minimal Japanese to rustic southwest to Scandinavian) ;) Builders with varying skills and unique creativity, a huge plus!
