HEART House provides emergency and transitional housing for up to 15 women and children facing homelessness in Taos.
Job Title: Evening Shift Service Coordinator
Hours: Minimum 3 days per week / 24 hours
Beginning Wage: $14/hour/ non-exempt
Shift: 3:45 pm to midnight
Primary Responsibilities
Front desk operations include but are not limited to answering phones, taking messages, making referrals, greeting and completing check-in/check-out for guests and completing in-take process.
Complete and administer drug screening tests on guests as required
Provide orientation of house policies and rules to each guest
Assists with meal set up and clean up. Overseeing meal preparations, while maintaining proper sanitation and food safety practices.
Welcomes volunteers and gives them clear directions regarding the meal service.
Distribute personal hygiene and other basic needs items to guests
Implement house rules and protocols
Maintain clear, complete, and timely file documentation for each guest
Maintain a safe environment, identifying inappropriate behavior, checking for influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
Manage shower/bath and laundry schedules.
Data Entry as needed
Address maintenance and housekeeping issues as they occur and keep clear and concise incident reports
Maintain a daily log of Heart House activities that include guest warnings, incident reports, calendar of events, updating supply lists and other clerical duties
Coordinate clean up of kitchen area with guests. This may require cleaning the kitchen or doing dishes.
Coordinates and oversees ongoing guest housekeeping activities, especially when guests vacate the premises, checking the rooms each morning.
Maintains adequate and organized supplies.
Attends staff meetings and training sessions as required
Other duties as assigned
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work in crisis situations - must demonstrate the ability to remain clear-headed when conflicts, crisis and emergency situations arise
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Commitment to a solution-focused work environment
Must demonstrate the ability to interact and supervise adults and children in a demanding and diverse population
Must be reliable with good transportation
Must be able to lift 20 pounds
Qualifications:
High School or High School Equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field preferred
Relevant work experience
Current CPR/First Aid Certification –or willingness to become certified
Must be able to pass a background check
General knowledge for Microsoft Office programs
Bilingual Spanish and English preferred
