We are fulfilling temporary Production Technician positions at this time. This is a 6-month employment term. Some opportunities for permanent employment may be available.

Parting Stone has developed a new way to provide an alternative to cremated remains. Families who choose cremation can now receive stone-like "solidified remains" that can be touched, held, and shared.

Parting Stone is an LGBTQIA+ safe space. BIPOC, queer, and trans people are encouraged to apply.

Position Overview:

Production Technicians are responsible for solidifying cremated remains into stone-like forms. This includes forming and polishing the “stones.” As technicians develop experience with the material, equipment, and process, they may take on more roles within the production operation.

The solidification process is related to ceramic production and general manufacturing. Daily responsibilities include material processing, material handling, use of lab equipment, working closely with a digital inventory system, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Production Technicians come in close contact with human and animal remains daily and are responsible for following strict chain-of-custody protocols to ensure the safekeeping of the remains.

Qualifications:

Comfortable working with human and animal cremated remains;

Attention to detail;

Communication skills;

Comfortable working in a team environment;

Can learn production methods and how to operate equipment;

Comfortable working in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment;

Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment;

Manufacturing, restaurant, or kitchen experience is helpful;

Situational awareness.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a lab/production environment in Santa Fe, NM. Production Technicians must comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols.

Physical Demands:

Production Technicians must be stationary, upright, ascend, lower themselves, or move about during their shift. This position requires being upright for up to 7 hours per day, repetitive movement, and may require lifting or moving up to 75 lbs. Production Technicians must wear PPE such as gloves, masks, and respirators.

Expected Hours of Work:

The position is full-time, 40 hrs per week, Monday - Friday 6 am - 2 pm. Hours and days may change due to company needs.

Compensation:

$18.00 - $20.00/hour DOE
