Ten Thousand Waves Japanese Spa Resort is hiring an organized and adaptable individual to join our dynamic Human Resources team. The on-site part-time Human Resources assistant role works with the entire HR team and managers and employees throughout the company. This position requires a responsible candidate with a proficient skill set to complete a range of administrative and interpersonal tasks in a unique work environment.
Our diverse and dedicated team at Ten Thousand Waves is made up of individuals who operate at a high standard to craft a guest and employee experience inspired by the omotenashi hospitality of Japan. We’re hoping to find someone to join our HR Department who can rise to the occasion with us.
Key Responsibilities:
HR administrative processing
Personnel data entry, maintenance; tracking and reports
Maintaining accurate filing systems (digital and physical)
Drafting emails, correspondence, and event announcements
Interacting with staff across the company in person, over the phone, and via email
Assisting with: benefits enrollment, company events and training, and other projects as assigned
Competencies & Requirements:
High level of discretion, proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Accurate, organized, punctual, detail-oriented, and proficient in meeting deadlines
Strong computer skills, including Excel, Google Calendar, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace
Professional people skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals
The Ideal Candidate also has:
HR-related and/or hospitality industry work experience
The ability to take initiative, utilize strategic thinking, and desire to learn
A good sense of humor and can keep a positive outlook in an energetic environment
Physical Demands
Must be able to work in a seated, stationary position for long periods of time at a computer. Must be able to frequently walk up and down stairs and over uneven terrain across the property (indoors and outdoors). Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Salary: $20.40 per hour
Hours & Schedule
15-18 hours per week, must be available to work 11am - 2pm on Wednesdays and 9am-3pm on Fridays and Saturdays with flexibility to assist with special events and training programs on other days as needed.
