REGIONAL HORSE HOSPITAL: COME JOIN OUR TEAM!
We are looking for an equine veterinary assistant or certified veterinary technician, with equine experience, to help part-time to full-time in our equine hospital. Our hospital has a great reputation in our region. Equines are brought to us from a large area - from southern New Mexico to Southern Colorado.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their understanding of horses. Our emphasis here is on gentle, effective horse handling, quality veterinary medicine and horse owner education.
NOTE: You do not need to be a certified equine technician or experienced assistant to apply, although that will be favored. We will teach you the skills, but we want staff who want to learn. Some horse handling experience is necessary and confident horse handlers will be favored. Most importantly, you MUST be willing to learn and improve your horse handling ability.
Experience in a veterinary practice (either small or large animal) is good but not required. You should have some computer literacy, and if you have management ability, that will be a plus.
JOB DUTIES will include equine care in hospital, vet practice cleaning and organization, surgical support, inventory and lab management, client care and follow-up. In time, your duties will include general anesthesia, imaging and other higher-level skills.
Compensation is dependent on experience and your fit to practice, and there will be great upward mobility.
