Job Summary:
We are seeking a temporary live-in caregiver to provide care to an adult male with autism and an intellectual and developmental disability. The support will be provided at his home and in the community. As a caregiver, you will play a vital role in assisting the individual with his daily activities and promoting his overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
· Assist client with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene tasks
· Follow care plans and ensure the client's needs are met effectively
· Prepare meals and ensure proper nutrition for client
· Provide companionship and emotional support to client
· Help client engage in social and recreational activities
· Administer medication as directed
· Report changes in the client's health status
· Maintain a clean and safe environment for client
· Communicate effectively with client, his guardians, and community providers
Skills and Qualifications:
· Ability to work independently and follow verbal and written instructions
· Previous verifiable experience working with a person with autism or intellectual or developmental disability
· Ability to implement behavior management strategies as directed by guardians
· Familiarity with care protocols and medication administration procedures
· Compassionate and patient demeanor toward client
· Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism
· Ability to maintain a brisk, non-stop walking pace for at least 45 minutes
· Strong English communication skills, verbal and written
· High school diploma
· Ability to pass pre-employment background investigation and successful completion of required trainings
· Possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to use own vehicle

The pay is $142 per eight (8) hour caregiving shift in addition to housing for one individual. Hours will vary weekly not to exceed 40 hours of care per week. Weekday work hours are required as well as occasional evening, weekend, and overnight hours. Mileage reimbursement is provided for client transportation to and from parent's home and to and from community activities.
The work is provided in a fully furnished home in a gated community. It is a pet-free home. Candidate must be a non-smoker and non-vaper.
