I’m looking for compassionate, grounded caregivers for my husband to fill in open slots when my full time staff goes on vacation or is out sick.
I also need Fridays and Saturdays from 8am to 5pm.
Requirements:
1. Prior experience with caregiving including wheelchair and car transfers. References required.
2. Strong and coordinated. My husband had a stroke, is paralyzed on one side, and requires assistance with wheelchair and bathroom transfers as well as showering. He’s only 110 pounds now but strength and good backs are required for everyone’s safety.
3. Fragrance-free. This means no laundry or personal products with scent. If you use products like Tide, please don’t apply. Same goes for fabric softener, air fresheners, hair spray and perfume. No smokers. This is extremely important as I’m highly allergic.
4. Compassionate and grounded are good fits for our home. Positive attitude is important. A good sense of humor is helpful. Enjoys looking at picture books, reading out loud, or watching nature in our garden to engage my husband are plusses. Please do not apply if you only want to engage with your own phone. He needs stimulation.
5. Able to cook healthy, simple meals is necessary. Must be able to keep kitchen and common areas neat and clean (we have a housekeeper for deep cleaning). Loves dogs is a plus. Our Teddy Bear poodle is a sweetheart and playtime and walks with caretakers is part of his day.
6. The ability to move from task to task and to communicate clearly is necessary.
Please note: No masks in home. Unvaccinated or lightly vaccinated preferred. If you’ve been boosted multiple times, this is not a good fit.
