Job Description
This position involves visual inspection, documentation, and sample collection of various media including soil, sediment, rock, water, air/vapor, and waste for investigation and characterization purposes. Key responsibilities include sample collection via spade and scoop, hand auger, and mechanical auger means, conducting site remediation, observation, and documentation activities which include monitoring and visual inspection of sites. An integral part of this role includes actively participating in daily pre-job briefings and safety meetings. This is a long-term contract (up to a year) with the potential for full-time conversion for individuals who excel in their role.
MUST HAVE CURRENT HAZWOPER 40 CERTIFICATION
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The work site is exposed to the elements and weather conditions. Training will be provided both via computer and in person. Compensation begins from the start of project-specific training, regardless of whether active site work has commenced.
Pay: 35/hr
Work Schedule: M-Thur 4 10 hour shifts
