Ten Thousand Waves is seeking a dedicated and hospitable FOH Host to join our team. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive. You will manage reservations, coordinate with the dining team, and maintain a warm, professional demeanor throughout their visit.
Duties and Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere upon arrival.
Demonstrate omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) with guests arriving and departing the restaurant.
Manage reservations using OpenTable, ensuring accurate seating arrangements.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Assist with resetting tables and maintain a clean and inviting dining environment.
Assist with seating guests efficiently.
Monitor guest satisfaction and address concerns promptly and professionally.
Stay on your feet for extended periods to provide attentive service and support the restaurant where needed.
Assist with additional duties as assigned by managers to support the team and enhance the guest experience.
Requirements
Previous experience in a host or customer service role preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is a plus.
Must be able to stand for extended periods.
A professional and friendly demeanor, ensuring guests feel valued.
Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
