This is a trade for rent and some utilities. On site, live in housing (29’ airstream). This is a very beautiful and exciting place to live and the work is simple, fun and rewarding for the right person. We have had very successful and mutually gratifying success with this trade historically.
This is not an ad for someone looking for housing. This is a job and you should treat this like a job interview. It may take several months for us to find the right fit.
We are looking for someone with a good, happy attitude and is physically fit. Must have great communication skills and be a very responsible person who cares about the health and well being of animals.
This is a serious position and must be your number one priority. You will need to be present sundown and sunup. You will need to be able to carry 50 pounds up a ladder.
We have 20 chickens, 3 goats, three donkeys and two horses.
We have 4.5 acres on the river and run a small, seasonal glamp camp. When we are present, May through December, animal duties are minimal, but mowing and lite landscaping amp up. While we are away, January through April, animal care 7 days a week. 1 hour a day.
This “job” has been proven to allow the right applicant to work a full time job outside of our land and have enough time to live a full social life.
We will also have on site paid work available.
Winter duties include but are not limited to;
Daily chicken and goat shuffling and water filling and feeding.
Intermittent stall and coop cleaning.
Summer duties include, but are not limited to;
Grass mowing, watering and weed whacking.
Some occasional, lite live stock animal care.
Misc, occasional help.
This job will not start until we find the right match and have given it a tried and true 3 month trial run and are both satisfied to move forward.
Pets allowed if well behaved and are not aggressive to our animals.
You pay your own electric and propane.
We cover water, garbage and wifi.
Back ground check is mandatory. Must have several, personal references. Must have a good working vehicle and an always operating cell phone with functional service.
