The Women’s Health and Genetics division of Labcorp is seeking a Genetic Counselor Assistant to join their team in Santa Fe, NM. This is an exciting opportunity to provide support to the Genetic Counseling team in various areas including: accessioning, client services, send outs, and reporting.The schedule for this position will be Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. This position has the flexibility to work remotely 2 days/week.Address: 2000 Vivigen Way, Santa Fe, NM 87505Responsibilities:

Work with the lab Genetic Counselor team to support clients that ordered testing performed at Labcorp

Respond to telephone and email inquiries from Labcorp clients, health care providers, Labcorp's laboratories and branches to coordinate all applicable genetic testing

Contact clients to obtain pertinent demographic and clinical information and communicate with clients to ensure that the appropriate testing is ordered

Research, troubleshoot, and resolve any problems related to testing by contacting clients or other Labcorp facilities

Responsible for performing administrative duties such as data entry, database/log maintenance, filing, and faxing of reports

Document case work and interactions with clients into the LIS System

Participate and contribute to weekly departmental meetings

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a Biological Science

2 years' related Customer Service experience preferred

1+ years' experience in the healthcare industry such as a hospital or physician's office highly desired

Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required. Experience with Laboratory Information Systems preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively

Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly

Strong project management skills
