Description Robert Half is helping a renowned services company find an ambitious candidate to fill the role of a Hybrid Controller. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Santa Fe, New Mexico region.Your responsibilities in this role

Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

Present CFO and Owner with monthly financial reports

Prepare for audit

Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

Consolidted financial statements

Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Requirements - Excellent communication and organizational skills

Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

CPA or MBA preferred

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

Experience with Debt Service

Consolidated Financial Statements experience desired

Deep understanding of Audit Prep

Command of financial reporting

Prepare Annual Budgets experience

Detailed and have the ability work independently

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
