Staff Accountant II Investment Accounting & ReportingWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant II to join our Investment Accounting & Reporting team. This role requires a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in real estate, investment, or public accounting. You will be responsible for preparing reconciliations, financial statements, fund consolidations, and investor reporting in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and capable of working independently to meet critical deadlines.This is a hybrid position with a combination of remote work and on-site presence at our corporate office in the Sorrento Valley area of San Diego, CA. Candidates must reside within commuting distance.Education/Certificates:A Bachelors degree in Accounting or FinanceA CPA (or equivalent) designation is a plusExperience:3+ years of relevant Accounting experience requiredReal Estate Industry, Investment Accounting, or Public Accounting experience a strong plusA successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to meet work deadlines in a fast-paced environmentSkills, Knowledge & Abilities:Strong understanding of accounting theoryProficient with Microsoft Office applicationsMust be highly detailed, organized in work and a strong team playerAbility to prioritize work load and meet deadlinesAbility to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectivesAbility to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employee, management and external clients to maximize performance and resultEssential Duties:Prepare monthly bank and account reconciliationsAssist in monthly, quarterly and year end close proceduresPerform monthly fund consolidationPrepare equity batch transactions for investor contributions and distributions based on understanding of investor/investee relationshipsPrepare consolidated historical GAAP and Market Value financial statements required by lenders and investorsGenerate fund performance reports (e.g. TWR, IRR, budget vs. actual) as required by investorsAssist with financial audits as well as preparing work papers required by external auditorsPrepare journal entries for transactions Process fund APPrepare Subscription Facility borrowing requestsPrepare capital calls and process distributionsPrepare lender compliance reportsOther projects as assignedOur Company:At Fairfield, we are proud to be a leader in the multifamily housing industry. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any).
