Elevator Construction Inspector

AECOM is seeking an Elevator Construction Inspector to be based in New York, NY.  Responsibilities include:Assists the project Superintendent and/or Project Manager by providing on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of elevator construction projects.Accountable for the organization and direction of elevator construction activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.Ensures project safety compliance, with a focus on elevator-specific safety regulations.Interfaces with other administrative field staff, field management staff and particularly the Project Superintendent and Project Manager in a coordinated effort.Coordinate with client's resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations, particularly regarding elevator installation and testing.Conducts thorough inspections of elevator installations, including mechanical, electrical, and safety systems.Verifies compliance with local, state, and federal elevator codes and regulations.Reviews and approves elevator construction plans and specifications before installation begins.Performs load tests and safety checks on newly installed or modernized elevators.Investigates accidents or malfunctions related to elevator systems and prepares detailed reports.Maintains accurate records of all inspections, tests, and approvals.Provides technical guidance and training to elevator construction teams when necessary.Stays current with evolving elevator technologies and safety standards through ongoing professional development.
