Here's what you need to know: This is a hybrid role- a combination of in person and remote work.At KIPP NJ our Managing Director of Schools (MDoS) manages and influences all regional decision-making that directly affects our day-to-day school operations. The MDoS is responsible for supporting all Head of Schools (HoS) in meeting their quantitative and priority goals through coaching, developing and management.  The MDoS is seen as the right-hand of the Executive Director across all K-12 schools The MDoS embeds antiracism in their approach, to better address issues of equity and fight systems of oppression in our schools.  Here's what you'll be doing:Manage and develop Heads of Schools team to drive student achievement and staff culture (45%)Plan and facilitate team meetings.Ensure each HoS is completing weekly recommended and mandated actions across operations, school culture, instructional leadership and talent management.Progress-monitor the ongoing results of each school band (ES, MS, HS) by analyzing academic data, student culture data, and staff culture data and action-planning the most important metrics with HoS.Provide on the ground observation, coaching and support to HoS to drive key metrics (i.e. observation of meetings, classroom walkthroughs, etc.).Deliver high-quality HoS PD and retreat opportunities alongside the Chief of Staff.Monitor school-level PD to ensure quality and alignment to broader regional expectations and priorities.Ensure HoS are appropriately addressing escalated student, family, or staff emergencies across all schools.Manage the Director of Student Experience to implement and progress-monitor consistent and affirming culture systems across all K-12 schools.Help make regional decisions and drive regional priorities (35%)Lead an annual planning process alongside the Chief of Staff that bridges the broader organizational goals and helps bring them to life for schools.Drive instructional and cultural vertical alignment across bands through the annual planning processCollaborate heavily with the MD T&L to refine the priorities for the upcoming school year, including all Professional Development cadences and academic monitoring systems.Set up clear goals for all HoS to monitor with their school leaders to ensure the success of the regional priority.Critical MetricsAcademic results on quarterly and end-of-year assessments, academic results for SPED students, student attendance, student culture and discipline data, parent surveys, staff retention, staff surveys (including but not limited to Insight, Engagement, and ITR) Timelines met for regional decision communication and implementation, implementation of regional academic priorities (e.g., microgoals, academic priority trackers), manager survey results
