What You Will DoM-3 is seeking a mid-level Research Technician to join our team. The Focused Experiments (M-3) Group within Dynamic Experiments (M) Division conducts experiments on explosives as well as materials and special security projects in service to the Laboratory and nation and other national security areas.A Research Technician provides technical support for activities including research, analysis, development, design, assembly, modification, oversight, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment used in experimental work (e.g. electro/mechanical apparatus, optical devices, analytical instrumentation, gloveboxes, lasers, radiographic equipment, high vacuum and pressure systems, and experimental diagnostics). Will work under the supervision of the X-Ray Calibration Lead in areas involving high consequences for safety, e.g. chemicals, radioactive materials, high explosives, high-power lasers, accelerators, high-energy devices, gas guns, and X-ray systems. Work may be directly related to national security objectives, requiring the individual to protect and maintain sensitive or classified information. At this semi-skilled level, one typically receives detailed and specific instructions and works on routine and some non-routine tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Responsibilities often develop into great depth of knowledge in one functional area, or knowledge in more than one functional area, as one moves up in job level.What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:

Experience in electrical work and electrical safety.

Understanding of OSHA lock out/tag out program

Works to technical objectives of assignments.

Works in a team environment and exhibits collaborative behavior.

Knowledge and implementation of required safety, security, and quality assurance practices for the work assignment, including calibration concepts and protocols as appropriate.

Ability to demonstrate safety and security practices in the workplace.

Ability to obtain DOE Q clearance.

Education/Experience: Position requires an Associate's Degree and 3 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Desired Qualifications:

Electrical Journeyman.

Electrical worker qualification.
