Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled diesel technician/ heavy equipment mechanic to maintain and repair construction equipment onsite, including dozers, water trucks, and skid steers on a large solar site. This role involves performing maintenance, repairs, greasing, fueling, and parts replacement to ensure the equipment operates efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair heavy equipment such as dozers, water trucks, and skid steers.
Perform routine maintenance tasks including greasing and fueling equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with hydraulic lines and mechanical components.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment longevity.
Replace parts as necessary to keep machinery in optimal working condition.
Essential Skills
Experience with industrial equipment, specifically Bobcat, Caterpillar, and Komatsu.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
Strong mechanical skills and familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
Previous work experience in civil dirt and equipment operation.
Experience working with CAT and Komatsu equipment is preferred.
This is a Contract position based out of Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Starting at $25.00-$30.00 /hour based on experience.
Per diem if 75+ miles from site
