Position Summary The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs clinical testing in at least two of the following areas: General Lab, Microbiology, Transfusion Services, and Processing/Tube Dispatch. In addition to obtaining specimens and performing clinical laboratory tests the Medical Laboratory Scientist demonstrates leadership through student and team member instruction, independent problem solving and client service. The Medical Laboratory Scientist provides service to patients throughout the life span including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric age groups.Minimum Qualifications
o Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree. Certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist or as a Specialist in related field preferred.
o Minimum Experience: None.
o Certification/Licensure: Med Tech ASCP or equivalent or eligible preferred.
