We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) to join our team! SGS, LLC is an Oklahoma based General Contractor / Design-Builder. We currently have openings for qualified personnel on our commercial construction project located in White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.

Responsibilities:

Involved in all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation

Ability to plan for and assign resources as applicable for projects

Supervise safety of all onsite personnel and subcontractors

Management/Enforcement of SGS’s Safety Program and Security Policies

Conduct regular safety meetings with trade subcontractors

Conduct safety orientation for all new employees onsite

Required to ensure all personnel onsite are equipped with proper PPE

Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, government officials, etc.

Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications

Qualifications:

Must have minimum of 5 years of continuous experience of construction or general industry safety management/supervising, managing safety programs or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls.

Experience as an SSHO on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects is preferred

Must have current OSHA 30-Hour and CPR/First Aid certifications

Must be familiar with requirements of the EM 385 1-1, 2014 version

Must have 8 hours of documented coursework every year to maintain level of competency.

40Hr EM385 Certification; preferred

24Hr Fall Protection Competent Person Certification; required

Knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, requires applicants to be of able body to assist in performing certain portions of the work, and to manage and schedule subcontractors

Experience with USACE RMS software

Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction means and methods

Strong leadership qualities
