Are you looking to help develop little ones? Look no further! The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) is where you want to be! We have a need for substitute teachers. This position will join our newly expanded and state-of-the-art daycare. This position has a commitment of 40 hours per week through May 2024; then will be scheduled on an as-needed basis. This will ensure support in our child care and education center. Sweatt-Winter offers half-day and full-day programming for children beginning 6 weeks of age through second grade. In addition to before- and after-school care for children, t he Sweatt-Winter Child Care & Educational Center also serves as the campus lab school for UMF's Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education majors. The substitute teacher will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of a developmentally appropriate preschool program in a childcare setting. This position works closely with children, families, UMF students, and UMF faculty. The work schedule is flexible and will vary between the hours of 7:00 am through 5:15 pm. Qualifications:

Required:

A high school diploma or the equivalent

At least one year of experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field

The ability to work well with children and families

Current CPR/First Aid certification (or completion within the first 30 days)

Successful completion of DHHS fingerprinting and background check

Completion of trainings required by State of Maine Licensing

Preferred:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

One (1) to three (3) years of preschool teaching experience

Experience mentoring pre-service teachers

Post-graduate teaching experience
