Where You Will Work Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching. DescriptionThis position will monitor equipment at the site using real-time technology to collect and analyze data with the goal of achieving higher equipment availability and lower maintenance costs. This position will also assist in operator education. As a member of the Remote Access Monitoring Process (RAMP) team, this person will assist in the development of advanced diagnostic tools.
Collecting and analyzing data using various predictive technologies
Making recommendations to maintenance personnel
Completing and submitting work orders as necessary
Assisting with on-site training for operations and maintenance employees
Assisting in the development and testing of new remote access monitoring technology
Performing other duties as required
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of experience in a mechanical field
Working knowledge and understanding of basic mechanical principles (e.g., hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid mechanical systems)
Proficient computer skills in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
Preferred
High School diploma or GED
Experience with CAT ET
Criteria/Conditions
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms
Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day
Will be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer YouThe estimated pay range for this role is currently $30.00 - $41.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
