Service Technician
Small, growing, family-owned specialty manufacturing / retail business seeking a service technician. This part-time position is well-suited for a mechanically inclined person living within easy access to Albuquerque’s South Valley / West-side areas.
Key Characteristics:
Reliable, trustworthy and self-sufficient.
30 hours per week. Exact hours to be agreed with some scheduling flexibility available. Extra hours may be available from time to time.
Must have own vehicle for travel primarily between locations – most locations are in the South Valley / West side, but occasional travel to the Edgewood/Moriarty may be required. (Mileage to be reimbursed).
Comfortable in plumbing and light machinery environment, training will be provided.
Particularly good fit for younger retirees (firemen, police, teachers, military).
Comfortable problem-solving with co-workers, vendors and customers.
Some lifting (up to 50 lbs.) is required.
Duties:
Get trained in our basic mechanical, plumbing and electrical operations.
Perform preventative maintenance on the machinery.
Directly fix machinery components as needs arise.
With experience and training, supervise maintenance assistants with their regular rounds (light cleaning, restocking supplies, managing machines / retail operations, etc.). May perform some rounds.
Effectively interact with and problem solve issues with customers.
Requirements:
Driver’s license
Reliable and insured vehicle.
Ability to bring a ladder, supplies in your vehicle to locations when required.
Must have personal cell phone.
Pass a background check.
Other Information:
Compensation: $27 per hour, with mileage reimbursement.
Hours: 30 hours per week in person and / or on-call. Weekends will be required.
Vacation: One week paid during 1st year, two weeks thereafter.
Schedule: Some flexibility to schedule around candidate’s availability.
