Job Title: Facilities & Maintenance Technician

Hourly Range: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour

Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Location: Albuquerque, NM (On-Site)

Position Objective

The Maintenance & Facilities Technician is integral to Schwazze's commitment to maintaining high-quality facilities in Albuquerque, NM. This role encompasses routine facility maintenance, timely repairs, and client support. The Technician ensures our facilities' appearance, safety, and functionality, responding to maintenance requests, and delivering professional client support. With a focus on general maintenance, including painting, equipment repairs, and more, this role contributes to creating a safe, aesthetically pleasing environment. Additionally, the Technician oversees the upkeep of industrial equipment, ensuring it operates efficiently. This multifaceted role is essential to Schwazze's dedication to providing top-tier facilities for our customers and partners.

Essential Functions

Facility Maintenance (60%)

Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as painting, filling crevices, and general upkeep, to maintain the appearance and safety of our facilities. This includes tasks like patching and repainting walls, repairing minor structural damage, and addressing any visible wear and tear.

Conducting repairs and maintenance on company machinery, appliances, and systems, with a focus on addressing issues promptly and efficiently. This may involve fixing plumbing issues, electrical malfunctions, or breakdowns.

Identifying and reporting the need for major maintenance repairs and coordinating with the appropriate teams to execute these repairs. Major repairs could include fixing significant structural damage, addressing safety hazards, or overhauling malfunctioning systems.

Regularly inspecting facilities to identify and address issues, such as litter, mechanical problems, or breakdowns, in a proactive and thorough manner. For instance, monitoring parking lots for potholes and assessing HVAC systems for efficiency.

Client Support and Project Work (25%)

Responding to maintenance requests from clients promptly and professionally to ensure their satisfaction and safety. This requires effective communication, understanding clients' needs, and delivering efficient solutions.

Overseeing a variety of repair jobs, which can range from carpentry, plumbing, painting, and more, depending on the specific needs of the clients. Tasks may involve repairing fixtures, installing new components, or refurbishing damaged areas.

Tackling a range of repair jobs, from minor fixes to complete bathroom installations, with attention to detail and quality workmanship. This may include tasks like fixing leaky faucets, replacing damaged drywall, or executing full bathroom remodels to meet client specifications.

Industrial Equipment Maintenance (15%)

Conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment to ensure its optimal performance. This may involve tasks like regular equipment inspections, lubrication, and component replacements to prevent breakdowns.

Managing and addressing equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, or failures, involving troubleshooting and timely repairs. The Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, sourcing replacement parts, and executing repairs to minimize downtime.

Please note that the percentage allocations are a general estimate and may vary based on business needs and priorities. Additional duties may be required as needed to support overall operations.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.

A minimum of 4 years of working experience in a similar role, preferably with experience in plumbing and electrical systems. This experience should include a track record of effectively performing maintenance and repair tasks.

Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment. Proficiency in using various tools is essential for successful repair and maintenance tasks.

Exceptional organizational skills and effective communication abilities. This includes the ability to manage work orders, communicate with clients, and collaborate with team members.

Detail-oriented with a strong aptitude for problem-solving. Attention to detail is crucial when inspecting facilities, identifying issues, and ensuring quality repairs.

The Technician must have a reliable means of transportation.

A clean Motor Vehicle Record is required to operate company vehicles and maintain safety standards.

A Plus, but Not Required

Proficiency in HVAC maintenance and knowledge of HVAC systems.

Previous experience in commercial property renovations, including carpet installation.

Familiarity with industrial and plant equipment repairs.

Additional certifications in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, or electrical systems.

Proficiency in a range of general maintenance tasks, including painting, guttering, trim work, Sheetrock repair, and replacement.

Experience in lawn maintenance and landscaping.

Familiarity with roofing, gutter installation, plumbing, electrical work, and new construction.

Knowledge of carpentry, mechanics, masonry, repair, remodeling, and tile work.

Experience in painting and maintaining parking lot striping.

Proficiency in renovations of commercial properties, including HVAC equipment installation and furniture repair/refinishing.

Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)

Schedule may vary depending on business needs (typically Monday – Friday 8 AM - 4 PM).

Nights, Weekends, and Holidays are to be expected based on needs of business.

Travel may be required within the state of Colorado up to 50% of the time.

Work involves standing and walking in a warehouse environment.

Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 75 pounds.

Adverse weather conditions should be expected.
