Essential Job Functions
While on duty, this position reports to the BHT II on duty. For supervisory issues, the BHT I will report to the BHT Supervisor.
Work actively with the residents to help them meet their overall goals and objective of the program.
Perform room searches and person searches as necessary.
Active engagement and participation with residents in their tasks and chores
Cooking, cleaning, maintenance of the property, yard work, errands, taking residents on field trips, grocery shopping, etc.
Driving residents to appointments, work, school, field trips, etc.
Work with the other BHTs and residents to facilitate Family Day on Sundays.
Provide weekend recreational and community service activities for residents both on- and off-site
Cover shifts for non-clinical staff as needed
Develop proficiency in medication crossover to include controlled meds and UA process logged properly.
Essential/Preferred Requirements
Highest education level: High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Ability to pass drug screening and all background checks is essential
Ability to pass motor vehicle record check is essential
Fluency in verbal and written English communication is essential
Essential Physical Abilities
Stand for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasionally bend, stand, stoop and stretch
Have full range of body motion
Have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports; specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds (This weight requirement may be adjusted based on something that the person would normally be expected to do)

Work Environment
The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled residential facility. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, to include staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies, and other members of the public on a regular basis. The position may occasionally cause exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids and other conditions common to a residential environment.
