Madden Industrial Craftsmen, a leading staffing agency, is partnering with an aerospace manufacturer in Albuquerque, NM, to fill a Sr. Traveling CNC Prototype Machinist position. This is a short-term, high-impact role for a proven professional who thrives under pressure, delivers precision work right the first time, and can hit the ground running without supervision. You will be contributing to critical Department of Defense (DoD) aerospace projects, helping clear a production backlog while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Contract Details:

Duration: 3–4 weeks, up to 6 weeks maximum.

Potential of direct hire based on a mutual fit.

Competitive pay with potential performance incentives for exceeding production goals.

Travel and per diem arrangements to be discussed.

Key Responsibilities:

Program and set up complex parts on 4-axis mills and mill-turn machines.

Create and optimize complex 3D toolpaths in Mastercam 2023/2024.

Machine aerospace materials including titanium, Inconel, aluminum, A36 steel, brass, and copper.

Deliver accurate, production-ready programs that run right on the first shot.

Collaborate with the production team to meet tight deadlines and quality requirements.

Troubleshoot machining and programming challenges quickly and effectively.

(Bonus) Mentor machinists or provide training on programming techniques.

Qualifications:

10+ years of CNC machining and prototype experience, preferably in aerospace environments.

Strong proficiency with 4-axis mills and mill-turn equipment.

Expert-level Mastercam 2023/2024 programming skills, including complex 3D toolpaths.

Proven track record of successful remote programming and first-run accuracy.

Hands-on experience machining aerospace metals (Ti, Inconel, aluminum, etc.).

Strong understanding of GD&T and precision measurement tools.

US citizenship required (export-controlled DoD work).

Must be able to pass a drug screen.

Ability to travel and remain on-site in Albuquerque for the duration of the contract.

Preferred:

Veteran status or prior military/DoD aerospace experience.

Experience mentoring machinists or working as a Mastercam reseller programmer.
