Human Resources Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This role will encompass a variety of HR functions, including payroll processing, employee onboarding, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a commitment to confidentiality, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

o Process payroll on a weekly basis, including payroll taxes and deductions.

o Reconcile timesheets and pay rates to ensure accuracy.

o Calculate and process 401(k) contributions and health insurance deductions.

o Generate child support and subsistence checks.

Employee Onboarding:

o Manage new hire paperwork and ensure compliance with company policies.

o Conduct vacation and sick pay reconciliations.

Benefits Administration:

o Oversee annual 401(k) contributions reconciliation and reporting.

o Manage health and life insurance plan renewals at year-end.

Compliance and Reporting:

o Prepare certified payroll reports and apprenticeship payments.

o Handle quarterly tax filings and ensure compliance with job licenses and permits.

Training and Safety:

o Manage and record safety training sessions for employees.

o Maintain a monthly list for safety counseling visits.

Front Desk and Office Duties:

o Perform front desk duties every other Friday.

o Coordinate office kitchen supplies, including coffee, silverware, plates, and cups.

o Shop for and prepare for office potlucks and events, including tracking expenses for beverages.

Account Management:

o Manage the T-Mobile account for employee mobile services.

Event Planning:

o Organize the annual Christmas party and other team-building events.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related experience.

Proven experience in payroll processing and HR functions.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
