The clinic of Roland K. Sanchez is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic medical assistant who can attend to patients for both front and back offices, possesses good skills with patients on the phone and in person, coordinates and schedules appointments, assists with ordinary, urgent, or emergency support. The candidate must be able to file documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment to support the delivery of quality patient care. The job includes a significant amount of multitasking, office organization and bookkeeping. Having knowledge and experience of back office duties are preferred. We are looking to hire a professional who understands the value of compassionate patient care.
Responsibilities
Check in patients
Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
Assist with prior authorizations, medical records and other desk duties
Gather patient demographic and personal information
Issue medical files to persons and agencies according to laws and regulations
Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
Maintain and manage patient records
Move patients through appointments as scheduled
Answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller’s needs yourself
Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
Ensure patient rooms are well maintained, neat and clean
Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
Versatile coordination of patient assistance
Flexibility to work on assignments to accommodate office as needed
Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred)
1+ years’ experience in medical assisting or administration is preferred
Medical assistant training and certification preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology, general administrative and clerical procedures
