Sushi Restaurant Server (6241 Riverside Plaza NW, Suite C-1)

New Mexico, Albuquerque 00000 Albuquerque USA

Vacancy caducado!

Sakura Sushi & Grill, voted Best Sushi Restaurant in Albuquerque, by Albuquerque Magazine, is located near Coors and Montano 6241 Riverside Plaza Lane NW, Suite C-1, Albuquerque 87120. We are looking for two Servers. We are fast paced, but we pride ourselves in our outstanding wait service. Our Wait Servers pool tips and average about $160/day in just tips, (plus minimum wage).

We are looking for one or two individuals who can think under pressure, prioritize tasks, and get the job done. While prior Server experience is useful for us, it is hard to untrain bad habits learned from many restaurants. But, if you are open to growing your skills, we are definitely interested in you. We are also interested in individuals that LIKE the stress that comes with this type of job. More importantly, we will train you to be the best. So, if you think you have what it takes to become one of our best Servers, this job is for you. Many young people today can't think under pressure, can't count change, and can't deal with people. Yet, our Servers love this environment, make good money, and work well together as a team. You know which ones we're seeking.

But first, you must learn our sushi menu and our system. The faster you learn, the sooner you become a well-paid employee. We are not interested in people who are on unemployment, and want to check off that they interviewed for a jobto keep their unemployment check. If we schedule an appointment for an interview, and you don't show (this happens a lot!), we will report your name to the DOL, and inform them that you are not really interested in working.

I am one of the owners, and my first job was washing pots and pans at 15. Loved it. My wife was a Server. Her tips, as a percentage of customer bills, was higher than anyone I know. My business partner, and our restaurant manager, started as a busser in a Japanese restaurant. We are looking for someone like us. Someone that takes pride in his/her work, enjoys the challenge of learning, and is excited to LEARN our way of serving. You may be in pre-med or business school, and have greater aspirations than being a Server. This job may be a good stepping stone for you, and you may still be good for us, as long as you plan to work for a couple of years. Or, you may want to own your own restaurant someday. This job may be the best place for you to start.

As a Server, here are the talents we are looking for, in order of importance:

1. Have a sense of responsibility to yourself and to others

2. Are honest and fair with those around you (luckily, these will be the people you work with!)

3. Eager to learn

4. Can think quickly and prioritize

5. Can work well with people

6. Can work hard (I believe you should also play hard, but that's just my philosophy)

Come join our talented family.

If interested, please send a resume to Bill at [email protected].
