Vegos is hiring a cashier! We are a small restaurant that focuses on vegan New Mexican cuisine. We are seeking energetic hard working folks who are passionate about food and who are very team focused. Vegos is home to a growing customer base of vegans and non-vegans alike. We are seeking a positive individual who is strong at multi-tasking, works with a sense of urgency, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Positions available are :
Tuesday-Saturday 4 -9pm
Qualifications:
Prior cashier experience at a food establishment 6 month minimum
Knowledgable about food allergens
Personable with strong customer service skills
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Lift minimum 20lbs
Must be proficient in reading and writing
Strong communication
Must be self motivated
Must have dependable transportation
ServSafe Certified, or the like, Food Handler Permit a plus
Starting Pay $16+ / hr

Job Duties Include but not limited to:
Take customer orders
Strong knowledge of menu, options and allergens to answer customer inquiries and resolve customer concerns
Cash handling
Sweeping/Mopping/Dusting
Assist wish dish washing & putting dishes away (this is a team effort that everyone participates in)
Bussing tables
Bringing orders to customers (both dining in & to-go)
Provide a pleasant customer experience by offering suggestions, using “small talk” as a tool to fill the silence and being overall inviting and welcoming in your demeanor
Fill and refill customer beverages
Assist BOH with minimal prep like portioning sauce.
Working with team to achieve a timely customer order
Reading tickets/orders and bagging items efficiently
Clean bathrooms and ensure they are stocked (toilet paper, towels etc.)

A little about us:
Vegos started as a tent and table operation serving at the Railyards farmers market in 2019. In 2020 we moved into a food trailer and started selling at various local breweries and coffee shops. In 2020 we placed 3rd for best foodtruck and 2nd for best chef by Albuquerque Magazine. In September 2021 we opened our doors as a restaurant and won 1st place as Best Food Truck in New Mexico by Edible magazine. In 2022 we made it in the top 10 list for best Restaurants in Albuquerque and in 2022 and 2023 we won best Vegan Restaurant by Albuquerque the Magazine.
