Sakura Sushi & Grill, voted Best Sushi Restaurant in Albuquerque for 2021, 2022, and 2023, by Albuquerque Magazine, is located near Coors and Montano 6241 Riverside Plaza Lane NW, Suite C-1, Albuquerque 87120. We are fast paced, but we pride ourselves in our outstanding sushi. We were also voted the number ONE Best Restaurant in Albuquerque in 2022 and 2023 for Take Out Service—out of over 2,000 restaurants. In Jan 2023, we were ranked by Restaurant Guru as the Number ONE restaurant in Albuquerque, out of over 2,700. We are locally owned and we have the highest customer ratings for any sushi restaurant in town. We fly in top quality, premium fish weekly, so you have the best ingredients. We are fast paced, but we pride ourselves in our superior ingredients and quality Sushi Chefs that create our gastronomic art.

We are looking a Sushi Chef with significant experience in the business. You must be able to work HARD. Good knife skill (and speed) is highly desirable. Presentation is very important. Punctuality is always required and frequent no shows will not be tolerated. The job is full time. We are closed on Sundays. You must be able to make sashimi, break down whole fish, and be able to make our sauces. Your pay would be based on your skill, speed, knowledge, and leadership. Once you are trained, your pay should be $21/hr to $25/hr, including tips, depending on your skills. We also provide enhanced sick leave to all employees and annual paid vacation to experienced Sushi Chefsbeginning after six months.

Here are the talents we are looking for, in order of importance:

1. A sense of responsibility to yourself and those around you

2. Honest and fair with those around you (luckily, these will be the people you work with!)

3. Ability to be trained and willing to learn from your mistakes

4. Ability to think quickly and prioritize tasks

5. Excellent dexterity and ability to work quickly

6. Interact well with customers and fellow employees

7. Comfortable working hard (I believe you should also play hard, but that's just my philosophy)

Here are some common situations that we do NOT want to see in an applicant:

1. You have a track record of not staying very long with one employer—for whatever reason.

2. You are untrainable because you think being corrected is harassment.

3. You are untrainable because you think your way is better than our way.

3. Your job resolves around your personal life. If you are a frequent No Show because of this, you will save us both a lot of time and effort by not applying to this job.

4. You are on hard drugs or an alcoholic, but you think it won’t get in the way. When you work for us, you agree to be tested if your performance causes us to suspect drug use. You will save us both a lot of time and effort by not applying to this job.
