Description Do you have an accounting background and a desire to join a Construction/Contractor firm? Robert Half has a HYBRID Senior Accountant role for you! This role handles financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. To be successful, candidates need to be highly adept at analytics and working in challenging, fast-paced environments. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Construction/Contractor field and is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Excellent compensation is just part of the package. Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Requirements - Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Efficient in ERP systems
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Proven knowledge of month end closings
Year end closings experience highly desired
Practical knowledge of journal entries
Earlier work involving cash flow statements
Quality experience with account reconciliation
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
Well-founded grasp of Full Cycle Payroll
General familiarity with Sage 300
Strong familiarity with B2B collections
General ledger experience preferred
Good understanding of Financial Statement
Wide ranging experience with Bank Account Reconciliation
Able to manage time well
Vow to meet business deadlines
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
