This is a full time, permanent position to start ASAP. The position is located in Belen, New Mexico, and reports to the Technical Services Manager. You must have the manufacturing experience to successfully perform the main responsibilities of the job, as detailed below. The purpose of this job is to provide technical manufacturing support for the department, and you will organize and manage the maintenance technicians.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent job experience
Business experience: 3-5 years of directly related experience
Additional Qualifications: Creative thinking around problem solving. Lean sigma training or certification preferred.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Function 1: Project Management
Conceptualize manufacturing Process
Develop realistic time schedules
Organize machines, materials, manpower and measurement systems.
Assign Projects to workers based on individual strengths.
Implement and complete a project
Essential Function 2: Develop Process Procedures
Evaluate the hazards and proper PPE for materials and equipment used
Examine the materials need for each manufacturing step
Oversee production floor procedures, checking for safety and accuracy.
Write complete procedures in standardized format.
Essential Function 3: Product Improvement
Determine the stakeholder's in the improvement process
Gain consensus on the ending goal from all stakeholders
Develop a design of experiments to reach the goal.
Implement and report on the results.
Determine resource requirements, develop relationship with vendors to implement projects when needed.
Essential Function 4: Provide Plant Support for Operations
Understand the product parameters and capabilities
Evaluate the desired outcomes using existing and new processes
Communicate with Technical Services on issues that need additional support
Utilize the limitations of the manufacturing process to achieve the goals.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Function 5: Manage Maintenance Technicians
Manage employee hours in KRONOS timekeeping
Organize schedule and manpower planning for maintenance techs
Coordinate maintenance activities with technical services
Set priorities and escalate issues as required
