Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Westville, New Jersey. This role involves working in the accounting industry, where you'll be expected to handle a variety of accounting functions, including processing invoices, maintaining financial records, and assisting with month-end closing.Responsibilities: Accurately process customer credit applications and prioritize them based on potential discount and payment terms. Review and batch invoices for payment, ensuring they align with respective purchase orders. Attend to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies through research and correction. Conduct credit card bill audits and process check requests in a timely manner. Assist in the month-end closing process, aligning with accepted accounting practices. Manage financial documentation and files thoroughly, ensuring they are up-to-date and in accordance with company policies. Utilize accounting software systems such as QuickBooks for various accounting functions. Batch invoices to checks, obtain necessary signatures, and distribute checks accordingly. Maintain accurate customer credit records and monitor customer accounts for necessary action. Handle coding of invoices and other accounts payable functions.Requirements Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role. Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is required. Familiarity with accounting functions such as Coding Invoices and Month End Close. Must be skilled in using QuickBooks. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
