Responsible for providing respiratory therapy care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities, under supervision of physician.Principal Accountabilities:Perform spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity using Carefusion/Vyntus systems. Equipment calibration and set up Exercise/oxygen titration testing EPIC System proficiency including scheduling, linking order, messages Triage patient calls as they pertain to PFT/CPAP Perform routine mask fitting for practice patients. Per physician orders set up patients with appropriate CPAP/BIPAP equipment Process orders, route calls to appropriate resources, and follow up on patient calls Verify insurance for patient eligibility and coverage Navigate multiple systems to obtain applicable documentation (CPAP orders/sleep studies) Participate in quality management and performance improvement activities Maintain clinical competencies Serve as mentor and resource to others Work independently within the scope of practice to achieve clinical outcomes Required:
Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required.
Bachelor's Degree, highly preferred.
Minimum 1+ years of Respiratory Care experience, required.
Critical care experience, highly preferred.
Previous experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing, highly preferred.
Current or past experience with EPIC charting, highly preferred.
Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), required.
Credentialed as Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist, expected to have or obtain with 12 months of hire.
Active license for Respiratory Therapy in New Jersey, required.
Basic Life Support certification required.
