OverviewJob Summary The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) serves as the State’s principal agency for economic growth. The NJEDA drives inclusive and sustainable economic development by helping to build strong and dynamic communities, creating good jobs for New Jersey residents, providing pathways to a stronger and fairer economy, and implementing initiatives to strengthen New Jersey’s long-term economic competitiveness. NJEDA is supporting the launch of the Wind Institute for Innovation and Training (Wind Institute). The Wind Institute will be a new independent authority charged with advancing offshore wind workforce development, education, research, and innovation efforts that support the growth of New Jersey's offshore wind industry and the state's position as a regional offshore wind hub. The Intern will work directly with the leadership of the Wind Institute to support and coordinate key initiatives that further the Wind Institute’s mission.   Interns can work 10-25 hours per week during the Fall/Spring semesters. Summer interns can work up to 35 hours per week for 8 weeks   Graduate students are qualified to apply and paid $23.00 per hour for this internship. ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities Interns support the Wind Institute team’s activities, projects, and strategies at the discretion of relevant Staff, to include but not limited to:

Support efforts to launch and administer a suite of programs focused on advancing economic development and research within the offshore wind industry in New Jersey;

Perform research and synthesize findings on existing trainings and innovations in offshore wind that contribute to the development of new initiatives for New Jersey;

Develop a strong working knowledge of the offshore wind industry and the opportunities and challenges of the industry in New Jersey;

Assist in the creation of tools, systems, and resources to help stand-up a new government entity;

Contribute to periodic activity analysis for inclusion in memorandums regarding the status of the Wind Institute’s initiatives;

Plan, schedule, and implement logistics for meetings and stakeholder events;

Promote teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff, and external customers;

Attend weekly team meetings.

Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Must be a full-time graduate student enrolled in a post-undergraduate program (or planning to enter a post-undergraduate program).

Travel

As necessary to events, meetings, businesses etc.

Position Requirements

Foreign degrees/transcripts must be evaluated by a reputable evaluation service at your own expense and must be submitted prior to a start date . If this cannot be provided within 21 days of an offer the offer will be rescinded.

Must comply with the “New Jersey First Act” which requires employees hired after September 1, 2011 to reside in New Jersey. Non-New Jersey resident employees must relocate to New Jersey within one year of their date of hire and provide proof of residency to Human Resources.
